haute bungalow, which is owned by Krista Abdy and Anne Pryor, brought their design vision to Spring Spring Street by furnishing the beautiful dining chairs, barstools, benches, lighting, and unique accessories, as well as performing all of the visual merchandising. “We wanted the interior design to reflect old downtown of Chatham, reinvigorated with a fresh industrial aesthetic, to provide the perfect backdrop for Spring Street Dezigns vast range of beautiful furniture," explained Krista. “We have some really interesting pieces, including a stunning rope and wrought iron chandelier with hand spun alabaster shades, a vintage industrial cart that makes a unique cocktail table, and some gorgeous French style chairs with a cerused or limed oak finish -- they all complement Dezi’s furniture beautifully”, adds Anne. |
Spring Street Dezigns Launches New Custom Furniture & Home Design Shop; March 2009; Chatham, NJ, Press Release |
Dezi Folenta, Owner/Designer and Master Craftsman has launched Spring Street Dezigns, a new retail store at 249 Main Street in Chatham, NJ for custom cabinetry and furniture, select home furnishing collections, and home audio and video solutions. With a promise to provide his customers superior design and craftsmanship, along with uncompromising taste and style, the launch offers both design-savvy consumers and professional designers a nearby location for one-stop home design shopping. |
Dezi is a well-known artisan in the area; for more than 25 years he has designed and created exquisite custom pieces for residents throughout the tri-state area. His designs include everything from tables, cabinets, hutches, bars, mantels, libraries, vanities, and media cabinets, to extraordinary gourmet kitchens, as well as Spring Street Dezigns own custom line of "Cella Vino" refrigerated wine armoires. “It’s a client’s passion that starts the design process for me”, says Dezi. Dezi’s wife Rita decided to join her husband in order to allow Dezi the time to dedicate his expertise to designing furniture, oversee the furniture construction, as well as managing on-going client projects. |
Dezi and his team of skilled craftsman and finishers renovated the retail space at 249 Main Street in Chatham to create an environment that feels warm and welcoming, vintage and fresh, all while showcasing their unique capabilities. They painstakingly repaired the original tin ceiling in the front of the shop and added custom raised paneled walls to emphasize the store's charm and grace, as well as provide samples of their craftsmanship and his attention to detail. His use of classic millwork adds understated yet beautiful detail to his work. They finished the walls with a unique treatment that layers burlap and several faux painting techniques. It’s all very classic, but with an updated and fresh approach. |
